Yesterday the New York Post broke a article titled, Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa admits they hid nursing home data so feds wouldn’t find out .
The article starts with, “Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s top aide privately apologized to Democratic lawmakers for withholding the state’s nursing home death toll from COVID-19 — telling them “we froze” out of fear that the true numbers would “be used against us” by federal prosecutors, The Post has learned.”
A January 28, 2021 article, also from the NY Post, says,
New York’s nursing-home death toll from COVID-19 may be more than 50 percent higher than officials claim — because Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration hasn’t revealed how many of those residents died in hospitals, state Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday.
In a damning, 76-page report, James also said that some unidentified nursing homes apparently underreported resident fatalities to the state Department of Health and failed to enforce infection-control measures — with more than 20 currently under investigation.
The amount of deaths and the way COVID-19 was handled raises many questions, especially for those that lost loved ones in New York. The reports that even simple infection-control measures were not enforced is alarming. President Trump sent the Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort to New York to ensure they had every possible resource to combat the virus and prevent deaths.
Adding to these egregious reports is the allegation that when the Trump DOJ investigated the extraordinarily high death rate, they hid data, running out the clock. Now, some fear the Biden administration will kill the investigation.
FNC Senior Meteorologist Janice Dean expressed this concern on Fox News Radio’s “Guy Benson Show” in January.
“I’m nervous that he’s going to get away with it. I’m nervous he’s going to get away with the fact that he’s not going to give us the real numbers of how many seniors died, that the Biden administration is going to get in and the Justice Department investigation into him is not going to go anywhere.”
Residents of New York are taking matters into their own hands, and are calling for Cuomo to be impeached. You can find and sign the petition here.
