Trump’s Acquittal

On Saturday, February 13, 2021, Donald Trump was acquitted in the impeachment trial.  The vote was 57-43, with all Democrats voting for impeachment and all but seven Republicans voting for acquittal.

The seven Republicans that voted for impeachment are Richard Burr, Ben Sasse, Bill Cassidy, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Mitt Romney, and Pat Toomey.

While Mitch McConnell voted for acquittal, he attacked Trump in a bizarre follow-up speech. McConell’s words add to the growing divide between the establishment–Republicans and Democrats, and the millions of people that want equal justice for all.
